post week 11 wrap-up

boring week for me since OU was on a break, but Northwestern won a sloppy game against Rice, so that was cool i guess.

AP and USA Today Top 25, Week 12

the weekend's notables:
1. #2 Oklahoma State MURDERS Texas Tech 66-6, securing OSU's perfect record and probably track to the National Championship (lookin' at you, Anonymous 1). OSU QB Brandon Weeden (yes, the 28-year-old) throws for 423 yards and FIVE touchdowns. he's passed the school touchdown-passing record with 69 (lol). still cannot believe my boys lost to T-Tech. dare i say Weeden is a better quarterback than Landry Jones? mehhhhh.
consequence: OSU stays at #2, and is probably the Big 12's only hope to go to the BCS. i cannot believe i just said thattttttttt

2. #19 Nebraska beats #12 Penn State 17-14, adding to Penn State's absolutely fucked football season. just me, but i'm guessing the interim head coach isn't gonna stay up top. lalala no one cared about the actual game, but everyone pointed out that McQueary (the assistant coach who saw Sandusky abusing the kid in 2002) was not there as he is on administrative leave, after he received several death threats; Paterno's son Jay Paterno, who is quarterback coach for Penn State, walked the sidelines instead of being up in the press box like usual.
consequence: Nebraska climbs up a bit to #17/16 while Penn State brings home #21 to a happy campus.

3. #7 Oregon kills the nation's favorite #4 Stanford 53-30. YAYAYAY except i hate Oregon just as much as i hate Stanford. Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck damaged his Heisman campaign just a little bit - he threw three touchdowns but also two interceptions. the Cardinals were down the whole game, and in the end, there was no way of coming back.
consequence: Oregon up to #4 and Stanford down to #8/9.

4. unranked TCU barely scrapes by #5 Boise State 36-35 AHHHHHHH!!! the Broncos thought they had it in the bag, but TCU's FRESHMAN KICKER gave them a last-minute field goal and victory. now Boise State is out of BCS running (but let's be real, were they ever in the race? no.) and TCU is makin' moves in the Mountain West Conference (LOL). TCU quarterback Casey Pachall made all the difference in the game with five touchdowns and only one interception.
consequence: TCU back on the map at #19, Boise State falls (not as much as they should) to #10/11.

5. #15 Georgia wrecks #20 Auburn 45-7. can you believe Auburn won the national championship last year...? the Tigers scored their first and only touchdown in the first quarter, and then proceeded to get screwed over for the next two hours. Georgia QB Aaron Murray set a school record after throwing four touchdown passes and now the team is one win from playing for the SEC championship. AUBURN NOW HAS FOUR LOSSES WTFFFFF
consequence: Georgia up a little bit to #13/15 and seeee yuhhhh Auburn.

6. unranked Missouri beats #16 Texas 17-5... cue the biggest mix of emotions ever. y'all know i hate Texas (sorry Heidi), but i don't like Mizzou either - and OU had a hard time beating them at home. this is weird... really Texas, you couldn't even score a touchdown? it's even worse than it sounds - Texas's last two points came from a blocked punt at the very end of the game. to be fair, though, three of their leading rushers were out due to injuries. sad day for the Longhorns.
consequence: Missouri still not ranked, which is like, pretty rude. Texas gets knocked off the top 25 too though shitttttt.

games to keep an eye on:
1. #6 Oklahoma at #25 Baylor. lol clearly my bias is showing, as no one else want to watch BAYLOR on the field. ugh.

2. #14 Kansas State at #16 Texas. calling it now, Texas wins. cuzzz Kansas State really sucks.

3. #19 Nebraska at #24 Michigan. why does Big Ten interest me... it feels wrong. calling Nebraska for this one (i like them now that Northwestern beat them).
