quarterback: probably senior #12 John Brantley, who started last year but had some trouble. according to Coach Muschamp, there will be an open competition for the job. at least four different guys want it.
hottie index: ehhhhhhh, 5/10 the low-down: oh God, where to start. Florida has been an incredible football powerhouse for so long, and only until last year did they start crumbling a little. they beat the Sooners for the 2009 BCS National Championship but in 2010, things fell apart. former coach Urban Meyer (one of the greatest coaches in recent college football history, in my opinion - two national championships and a 5-1 bowl record) had to leave in 2009 because of health reasons. when he came back for the next season, his team was shit. their final record last season was 8-5: not too terrible, right? it was Urban's worst season at Florida. they finished unranked for the first time in more than a decade. Urban quit for good at the end of the season, after the Gators beat Penn State at the Outback Bowl.
NOW, Florida has to think about climbing back to the stop. that won't happen for a while, but at least things are looking promising. the team just hired former Notre Dame head coach and former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis to take over offense. he'll bring a bunch of experience that hopefully translates into a stable O-line. for the most part, their schedule looks doable, except for a few daunting teams - Alabama, LSU, Florida State included. honestly, this isn't the season to hope for a big bowl game... Florida just needs to get itself back on its feet.
first game: Florida Atlantic at home. i literally have never heard of this team in my life. are we just making teams up now...?
