post week 4 wrap-up

so you may have realized i did not update a post week 3 wrap-up.
it's been a crazy first week at school, what with working at The Daily Northwestern and getting dumped after 10 months and getting a cold and sleeping three hours a night and so on and so forth. SUCH IS LIFE, RIGHT LADIES? WE GET ON WITH IT.

AP and USA Today Top 25, Week 5

last week's notables:
1. #1 Oklahoma beats unranked Missouri at home 38-28, but it's not a pretty win. Mizzou even leads during the first half, which really pisses me off. it's fine. thank God for Broyles, who snags three touchdowns and proves himself to be the wide receiving idol he is.
consequence: Oklahoma now ranked #2 in the AP, fuck you.

2. #2 LSU gets a huge win over #16 West Virginia 47-21. Jarrett Lee makes three touchdown passes, sophomore running back Michael Ford scores twice and defense forces four turnovers - awesome.
consequence: LSU moves up to #1 in the AP, fuck you once again.

3. #21 Clemson beats #11 Florida State 35-30, after FSU loses to Oklahoma last week. much of this loss attributed to the loss of injured quarterback EJ Manuel (injured by the Sooners LOLZ). Clemson wins its fourth for a so-far perfect season.
consequence: Clemson moves up to #13/15, which is still too low, in my opinion. Florida State drops #23/#24.

4. #23 USC loses to unranked Arizona State 43-22, proving yet once again that they should never have been ranked because USC is a joke from now on, especially since Arizona State just lost to Illinois last week. USC quarterback Matt Barkley fucks up with one interception and a fumble, too. yay.
consequence: bye, USC. hey Arizona State, welcome to AP's #25 slot.

5. #7 Oklahoma State barely beats #8 Big 12 traitor Texas A&M 30-29 after trailing by 17 points at halftime. but octogenarian OSU QB Brandon Weeden throws for a school record 438 yards and A&M QB Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions, evening it out. Texas A&M lets turnovers and penalties get the best of them, showing that things start sucking after you leave the Big 12.
consequence: OSU moves up to #5/6 (Bedlam is going to be so much fun), Texas A&M drops to #14/13.

games to keep an eye on:
1. #3 Alabama at #12 Florida. shouldn't be too big of a deal for Bama, but it is in Gator City. should be a fun offensive game to watch.

2. #8 Nebraska at #7 Wisconsin. an awesome Big Ten game - i have to go with Wisconsin for this one, because i cannot believe Nebraska left the Big 12 and started this whole fucking mess. also Wisconsin is badass.

3. #13 Clemson at #11 Virginia Tech. Clemson's on a fucking roll, and i think they're severely underrated. if they win this, they could get some actual talk in polls. and i think they will.

4. #18 Texas A&M vs. #18 Arkansas at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. both teams have one loss each. if Tannehill gets his fucking act together, maybe A&M can pull themselves together for a win.
